The Kaka are a small ethnic group in south of the Donga River, northwestern Cameroon. They are neighbors of the Mambila, who live beyond the border in Nigeria. The Fulani name Kaka, was given to them by the Germans. They lived on the high plateaus close to the Cameroon border; the statues they made were identified quite late. Meek (1931) signaled the existence of the Kaka, whom he placed in Cameroon. It is difficult to know whether he was speaking of the same ethnic group, as no real border existed between Cameroon and Nigeria at that time.
