This standing Dogon figure is hermaphrodite and originates from the Dogon people of Mali. The style figure depicts the ideals of beauty, fertility, commonly used as shrine figures, represent episodes from Dogon mythology. They were often objects of petitions or prayers for fertility and successful births. Very nice patina, old wood.
Made of 100% wood.
